This 5 day workshop will begin by teaching the basics of photography for cyanotype. Bring your camera and join us for a photo adventure. We will explore the beautiful area near Standing Stones B&B to take advantage of the landscape, flora and fauna. You couldn’t hope for a better location to get great photos to use for the rest of the workshop. Feel free to bring some of your favorite digital photos, if you would like, to work with them as well. After we have something fabulous to work with, we will learn about editing for cyanotype, making a plan for how we will paint the print and creating a perfect digital negative. Then we will learn how to print a great cyanotype and start exploring the world of watercolor. First with some basic skill building and then moving into how to combine cyanotype with watercolor. The quickness of creating a cyanotype print will allow you to experiment in order to create what will work best for your vision of the final product. You will leave the workshop with some amazing pieces and a new skill you can easily use in your own home. This is a great workshop for anyone looking to delve into the multimedia art world, be they a beginner, painter or veteran photographer.

Biography: Cass Weber is a Montana based fine art and commercial photographer. While getting her photography and philosophy degrees from Oregon State University she fell in love with the world of alternative process photography. Splitting her time between commercial work, with her business Spotlight Photography and Design and her fine art work allows for a great creative balance. She loves the intricacies and technicality of alternative process work and the ability to combine the digital world with the techniques of the past.
